#7 Old friends

Over the last two days I have found a couple of old friend from Norwalk on Face Book. Face book has been a wonderful tool for finding old friend and new family. A few months ago I found an entire branch of my family that I didn't know about. Intellectually I knew they had to be out there but I was unaware of them. I have had my complaints about Face Book but am very glad to have it here. I never would have been able to find the family and friends without it. I hope to find more of the friends that i grew up with so as to get reacquainted with them. Friends and family are what makes life worth living.

# 5 A special meeting

Pearson, Kevin W. - First Quorum of the Seventy
To my LDS friends just wanted to post about a very spiritually powerful meeting that I attended. the speakers were Elder Anderson and Elder Pearson 70s of the LDS church. Elder Pearson was the main speaker and delivered a very powerful message. The spirit was with him this evening. It was a 7 stake meeting for the leadership of the stakes held at the Jacksonville stake center. When any of you get a chance to listen to a general authority give a talk in person, if at all possible rearrange your schedule to attend you will not be disappointed.

Tryouts began at 9:00 and parents were not allowed in the theater. The tryouts ended at 11:30 with a call from Victoria that she was done and was given the part of a Bon-Bon whatever that is. Now practices every Saturday till December. Anyone that wants tickets they will be available fro sale in the near future. I will post their availability when I find out.

#2 A rant

As a citizen of Jacksonville I have been told over the last year or so that the city is under such high budget pressures that they might have to close some fire stations and lay off some police, directly jeopardizing public safety. They are also taxing us for things like garbage collection and storm water runoff that were covered by our property taxes because we uppity taxpayers decided to increase our homestead exemption. Now I see tow intersections in downtown Jacksonville that are being redone (Laura St & Water St - Laura St & Bay St) With expensive brick pavers. There was nothing wrong with either of these intersections to begin with. I don't know what the cost is but I bet it is in the 7 figure range plus the ongoing maintenance. Instead of adding all the fees (pronounced taxes) why not stop spending money to redo streets that are just fine and cut nonessential services and go after welfare cheats that have big screen TVs, multiple new or nearly new cars, that have nails and hairdos that are an unnecessary expense. If they have money for those thing while on welfare they don't need welfare.
